Instructions Welcome to the website designed specifically for travel consultants like you, who need to be trained and accredited to satisfy the requirements of the Financial Services Reform Act (FSRA). The FSRA is now part of the Corporations Act (Cth) and you are required by law to be adequately trained to allow you to sell travel insurance. The Corporations Act applies to travel insurance provided by travel agents. The Corporations Act 2001 (the Act) applies to certain conduct (such as arranging and advising) in relation to financial products (which include contracts of insurance, such as travel insurance). Therefore, as travel insurance is considered to be a ‘financial product’, the arranging (selling) of travel insurance must be done in a specific way to ensure compliance with the law and to ensure customers are fully informed about their purchase decision. Persons, who advise, arrange or deal in financial products (e.g. travel insurance) need to either obtain an AFS Licence themselves or be a representative of a licensee. ETI Australia Pty Ltd, trading as Mondial Assistance has obtained as AFS Licence (Number 245631) and all Intermediary companies and their representatives are required to be registered as ‘Authorised Representatives’ or ‘Corporate Authorised Representatives’ of Mondial Assistance. Registration for Travel Agents is mandatory All Travel Agents’ MUST be registered in relation to any financial services they provide. To be able to sell travel insurance you need to be fully registered. If Agents are not registered, the agent is banned by law from providing/advising or selling travel insurance until such time as the nominated courses (outlined below) have been undertaken. Within this site there are four (4) training modules to assist the travel agent with knowledge and understanding on:
The modules are self pacing and for each of the four (4) topics, a training module and separate yet corresponding quiz is presented. Once each quiz has been submitted a result will be delivered and a certificate (where compliant) can be printed. A Username and password is required. Contact your State Program Manager for further information. Please do not delay in finishing the training. It is relatively straightforward and interesting. There is no ‘negotiables’ with the requirement for you to complete the training, as the law requires this training as a prerequisite to selling travel insurance. So who is ETI?
